Job summary

Lear Corporation seeks a Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Manager in a safe, efficient manner at our Sterling Heights, MI plant. The role covers addressing and implementing fixes for Injection Molding machines, and performing preventative maintenance tasks along with other duties.

Qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent and manufacturing experience preferred. The schedule is day shift with overtime as needed; pay is $22.00 per hour and benefits include health,

• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Must be able to operate HiLo and overhead cranes.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment per Lear Preventative Maintenance Program.
• Purchase parts and order services from approved vendors.
• Check all equipment for proper oil levels.
• Maintain efficient and effective operation of all equipment.
• Maintain and repair the facility and its support systems.
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual safety checks on the facility and equipment.
• Review the scheduled maintenance requests with the Maintenance Manager.
• Clean surrounding work areas.
• Complete all duties as assigned by your Manager, Superintendent, or Operations Manager.
• Assist the Maintenance Manager as directed.

Job Description

The primary role of the Maintenance Assistant is to assist the Maintenance Manager in a safe manner.

Responsible for addressing and implementing fixes for Injection Molding machines, performing Preventative Maintenance tasks, and other duties.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment as required per Lear Prevantative Maintenance Program
• Purchase parts and order services from approved vendors
• Check all equipment for proper oil levels
• Maintain efficient and effective operation of all equipment
• Maintain and repair, as needed, the physical facility and its support systems
• Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and annual safety checks on the facility and equipment
• Review the scedule maintenance request repairs daily with the Maintenance Manager
• Cleaning surrounding work areas
• Complete all duties as assigned by your Manager, Superintendent, or Operations Manager
• Assist the Maintenance Manager as directed by the Maintenance Manager
• May be assigned different duties depending on plant needs.

Required Skills

• Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to frequently bend, reach or twist.
• Ability to frequently lift, transfer at waist height 45 lbs
• Ability to stand and/or walk long periods of time.
• Must pass a drug and alcohol screen (including marijuana).
• Use of various hand and power tools

Experience requirements

Medium manufacturing experience is preferred.

• Manufacturing: 3 years (Preferred)
• Injection Molding Maintenance OR Electrical Maintenance 2 years
• Ability to drive HiLo
• Overhead Crane/Lockout
