Responsibilities

  • Lead development, procurement, and implementation of automation solutions to support customer product manufacturing equipment needs.
  • Plan and lead hardware and software improvements of automated lines and off-the-shelf equipment via analysis of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and data.
  • Own communications with multiple stakeholders including solution providers for design, technical information, and specifications.
  • Lead and solve complex technical problems and lead equipment validation activities such as FAT and SAT.
  • Develop maintenance plans and oversee activities to achieve target performance, maintenance, and OEE improvements for multiple machines.
  • Support customer product roadmap using Celestica Automation E2E process and tools such as URS and DFAA and PM workbook.
  • Drive problem solving and corrective actions related to causes of machine failures, speed loss or quality issues.
  • Work with Process Engineering to ensure equipment is statistically capable of meeting product manufacturing requirements.

Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Equipment

The Lead Engineer, Manufacturing Equipment is responsible for the development and/or sourcing of manufacturing equipment to support manufacturing operations goals. Scope includes design and development of equipment, qualification, deployment to manufacturing, improving performance, and supporting programs to optimize efficiencies while maintaining a safe working environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead development, procurement, and implementation of off-the-shelf standard solutions and/or develop new standard automation solutions to support customer product manufacturing equipment needs.
  • Plan and lead hardware and software improvements of automated lines and off-the-shelf equipment via analysis of Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE) and other available data. Own communications with multiple stakeholders including solution providers for design, technical information, and specifications.
  • Lead and solve complex technical problems and lead equipment validation activities such as Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT).
  • Develop maintenance plans and oversee and/or execute activities to achieve target performance. Be accountable for performance, maintenance, and OEE improvements for multiple machines within a value stream.
  • Support customer product roadmap using Celestica Automation E2E process and tools such as User Requirement Specifications (URS) and Design for Automation Assembly (DFAA) and PM workbook.
  • Drive problem solving and corrective actions related to causes of machine failures, speed loss or quality issues.
  • Work with Process Engineering to ensure equipment is statistically capable of meeting product manufacturing requirements.
Physical Demands
  • Duties performed in a normal office environment.
  • May require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements such as data entry, using a computer mouse, and calculator occasionally required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
Typical Experience
  • 1 to 3 years of related experience; experience in similar job roles.
Typical Education

Bachelor degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
