Job summary

Crafted Staff is seeking a Quality Inspector II in California to perform inspections across components and assemblies. You will read blueprints, measure with precision tools, and verify conformance to AS9100/ISO requirements.

The role supports FAI activities and internal audits, with attention to process improvements. Requires 2–5 years of experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and familiarity with ISO 9001/AS9100.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards
• Analyze process data to identify deviations from standards
• Inspect soldered connections and assemblies visually and mechanically
• Document acceptance/rejection reports for inspected items
• Identify and report design or process inefficiencies
• Perform routine inspections on designs, assemblies, parts and tooling
• Support internal audits and corrective action follow-ups
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance; may require nights/weekends

Quality Inspector 2

Schedule: M – F | 5:00am – 1:30pm

Pay $25.00 - $28.00 / hr

Must Haves:

• Able to read blueprints/drawings
• Experience with gauges, calipers, torque range, filler gauges, lead partitions gauges, micrometers
• Experience with ISO 9001 standards, as well as Aero Space Standards like AS9100 use on aviation, space and defense organizations.
• Successful and comfortable engaging with auditors to support AS9100/ISO compliance activities.
• Experience doing first articles (FAI) in accordance with the Aerospace Standards AS9102.
• Preferred Certifications: Geometrical Dimensional Tolerancing (GD&T) described in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Y14.5 standards, ISO 9001, AS9100/ISO, AS9102 Standards

Summary:

The Quality Inspector II inspects a range of components, parts and/or products for the area assigned as prescribed by all applicable specifications and quality assurance Instructions. Identifies moderately difficult quality issues in design, process or other inefficiencies to meet quality requirements.

Job Core Responsibilities:

• Conducts examinations and quality control inspections on products, materials and components at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with established quality and reliability standards
• Participates in analysis statistical data from processes to either confirm compliance with established standards or identify deviations from standards
• Performs visual inspections of soldered connections, mechanical inspections of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies and subassemblies
• Prepares and completes all necessary documentation for reporting acceptance/rejection of inspected and/or tested items
• Identifies design, process or other inefficiencies and reports quality concerns and issues
• Performs routine quality inspections on engineering designs, assemblies, piece parts, final assemblies and tooling
• Conducts Internal audits and corrective action follow ups
• Other responsibilities as assigned
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary

Job Specifications:

Education : A Secondary Certificate/High School Diploma or equivalent combination of relevant education and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

Certifications: Vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field

Years’ Experience: 2- 5 years of relevant experience

Skills:

• Ability to follow established job instructions and procedures with minimal supervision
• Able to apply a systematic QA approach while using existing procedures to solve a range of technical issues
• Skilled at measuring and using test equipment as prescribed by job assignment
• Capable of following instructions and applying processes and procedures to standard routine tasks
• Must be able to interpret and follow written and verbal instructions, including engineering drawings, charts, diagrams, and sketches
• Proficient computer skills
