Director of Quality and Patient SafetyJob Description
With a commitment to patient- and family-centered care, the Director for Quality and Safety, in collaboration with JEPH Leadership, coordinates activities in designing, implementing and executing safe patient care. The Director will oversee all aspects of patient quality and safety programs within JEPH, ensuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and safety.
The Director collaborates with key partners to ensure that patient safety is upheld by including programs such as incident reporting, risk management, and sentinel event reporting. The Director ensures compliance with regulatory agencies (CMS, Joint Commission, DOH)
Essential Functions
* Interacts with co-workers, leaders, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
* Participates in excellence program planning and coordinates the implementation, evaluation and monitoring of performance standards.
* Responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the effectiveness of clinical care and services based on patient safety and quality outcomes, clinical effectiveness, and patient centeredness for JEPH's inpatient and outpatient facilities.
* Collaborate on the strategic plan for Quality and Safety with JEPH's CMO/CQO.
* Assesses the organization's current patient safety culture and implements creative strategies to heighten this culture.
* Supervises the Patient Safety/Performance Improvement activities, and the annual budget plan.
* Works collaboratively with nursing, physicians, operational and ancillary professional leadership to integrate quality at all levels
* Acts as a liaison to other departments for the implementation of multidisciplinary process improvement teams.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
Education:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; BSN required; MSN or related health care related degree preferred.
AND
Experience:
5 years' experience in quality improvement and patient safety
Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:
Current RN licensure in state of practice, if applicable to applicant's background
Additional Information
Training and/or certification in quality and process improvement (Eg: CPHQ, Lean, Six Sigma) preferred.
Experience in utilizing data for continuous quality improvement, the IHI Model for Improvement, and Common statistical spreadsheet and database management
