Job summary

Clay County School District is seeking qualified candidates for ESE Health/General Health Assistant roles. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with Title One schools allowing additional pathways including an associate degree, 60 credits, or a Praxis score.

Training in SCM, First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration is provided and must be completed within 6 months. Additionally, General Health Assistants must meet training requirements and can lift up to 35 pounds.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required for non-Title One schools.
• Title One Schools require (a) High School diploma or equivalent and (b) ONE of the following: Associate's degree, 60 credits minimum, or Praxis Paraprofessional test score 464.
• ESE Health Assistants must complete Safe Crisis Management (SCM), First Aid, CPR, and Medication Administration within 6 months of employment, training provided by the District.
• ESE General Health Assistants must complete First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration as required by Federal Medicaid regulations, and must be able to lift 35 pounds.
• If transportation of students is a routine duty, must have a valid Florida Driver's License and a safe driving record; maintain it during employment; Safe Driver Plan defines a 'safe driving record'.

Required Qualifications for CPR, First Aid, and Medication Management:

Successful completion of training requirements in CPR, First Aid and Medication Administration as required by Federal Medicaid regulations to be provided by the School Board during contracted working hours at the employee's regular rate of pay within 6 months of employment for Behavioral Health Assistants or General Health Assistant job holders must have successfully completed the training.

Must be able to lift 35 pounds in General Health Assistant classes.
