Job summary

Garanti BBVA Technology is seeking an IBM Z and z/OS specialist to join our Z Cloud Infrastructure Technologies team. You will work hands-on with z/OS installation, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management to ensure stability of critical workloads.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of professional IBM Z and z/OS system programming/administration.
• Hands-on experience with z/OS installation, configuration, maintenance, and system administration processes.
• Practical experience with SMP/E; ability to execute maintenance, PTF/APAR, and related maintenance processes.
• Experience implementing RSU (Recommended Service Upgrade) processes.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end management of z/OS lifecycle and system administration.
• Install, maintain, and upgrade z/OS and related software.
• Manage RSU processes, maintenance tasks, and disaster recovery activities.
• Collaborate with team to ensure stability and reliability of critical systems.

Our team is responsible for the end-to-end management of IBM Z Mainframe infrastructure and z/OS operating systems supporting the organization's mission-critical workloads.

Our responsibilities include z/OS operating system lifecycle management, system software installation and maintenance, RSU activities, and the management of Disaster Recovery environments.

In addition, the team is responsible for the hardware infrastructure of our IBM LinuxONE platforms.

The position covers hands‑on technical responsibilities across system operations, maintenance, upgrades, and business continuity activities, ensuring the stability, availability, and reliability of critical systems.

The mandatory criteria we are looking for

• At least 2 years of professional experience in IBM Z and z/OS system programming/administration,
• Hands‑on experience with z/OS operating system installation, configuration, maintenance, and system administration processes,
• Practical experience with SMP/E; ability to execute maintenance, PTF/APAR, and related maintenance processes,
• Experience implementing RSU (Recommended Service Upgrade) processes.

The preferably criteria we are looking for

• Knowledge and/or experience with IBM LinuxONE hardware infrastructure,
• Knowledge and/or experience with IBM GDPS (Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex)
