Hilton Istanbul was the first modern hotel built in Europe after the Second World War.

Hilton Istanbul appears in the opening scene of 1963’s From Russia with Love, starring Sean Connery as James Bond.

Istanbul’s first discotheque, Cloud 9, opened at Hilton Istanbul in 1972.

Pilsen Pub, built in Hilton Istanbul in 1972, was the home of Istanbul’s first happy hour.

Muhammad Ali was staying at Hilton Istanbul when he announced his retirement from boxing in 1976.

THE ROLE:

A Waiter/ess is responsible for serving guests in a friendly, timely, and efficient manner to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while having extensive knowledge of menu offerings.

What will I be doing?
  • To prepare the setup of tables and chairs for the next service period
  • To ensure that the items like chinaware and cutlery are clean and in good shape
  • \
  • To ensure that the area he is responsible for is ready for service clean and with right equipment and goods
  • To ensure that all the sofas and chairs are clean and drop‑free before the service
  • To participate in Pre-Service Meetings
  • To actively take part in pre-service preparations
  • To check if the guest has a special request checking the reservation in prior, make preparations if required
  • To communicate effectively and professionally with other departments
  • To assist guests with seating taking care of their bags and coats
  • To present menu and wine to guests
  • To ensure that all the guests are served warm bread and olive oil
  • To take order directing the guests with recommendation
  • To pass the order to related units through Micros System, open and follow up the addition
  • To organize set‑up according to the nature of order
  • To assist guest in selection of wine appropriate for the food ordered
  • To recommend and serve starters before the main course
  • To service meal and drinks prepared in the kitchen or bar carrying them carefully
  • To guide the low tenure team members working with him in training, and ensure that the orders are brought to guests in the right way
  • To provide the service presentation that would maximise guest satisfaction
  • To pro‑actively service guests needs depending on the order
  • To follow up the empty glasses and china, and ensure that tables are cleaned
  • To ensure that the drinks are refilled and the ash‑trays are changed periodically
  • To make Liqueur and Brandi recommendations and sales
  • To ensure that the details like Dessert and coffee are added to the cheque
  • To check that the guest has not forgotten anything while leaving
  • To inform Restaurant Supervisor of Guest recommendations concerning any development area
