Role Overview

The Technical Writer will be responsible for producing, editing, and maintaining technical documentation that supports the design, construction, commissioning, and operation of FPSO EPC projects. This role requires close collaboration with engineering teams, project managers, and subject matter experts to ensure that all documentation is accurate, clear, and compliant with industry standards and client requirements.



Key Responsibilities


  • Document Creation: Write and edit technical manuals, procedures, specifications, and reports for FPSO systems and EPC project phases.

  • Information Gathering: Collaborate with engineers, designers, and project staff to collect technical data and translate it into user‑friendly documentation.

  • Standards Compliance: Ensure all documents meet company standards, client specifications, and regulatory requirements (e.g., classification societies, HSE guidelines).

  • Consistency & Accuracy: Apply style guides, templates, and controlled vocabularies to maintain consistency across all project deliverables.

  • Review & Revision: Participate in peer reviews, incorporate feedback, and update documents throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Knowledge Management: Support document control processes and contribute to the development of best practices for technical communication.

  • Digital Tools: Utilize document management systems (e.g., SharePoint, Documentum) and authoring tools to manage and deliver documentation efficiently.



Qualifications & Skills


  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related discipline.

  • Experience: 3–5 years of technical writing experience, preferably in EPC, oil & gas, or offshore projects.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with FPSO systems, offshore engineering terminology, and EPC workflows.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite, document management systems, and technical authoring tools.

  • Soft Skills: Strong writing and editing skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Languages: Fluency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an advantage.
