Qualifications

Job description

AKSA, a company of Akkök Holding, was founded in 1968 in Yalova. Becoming the world’s largest producer of acrylic fiber over the years, Aksa today serves approximately 300 customers in over 50 countries across 5 continents. Having a capacity of 350,000 tons per year, Aksa supplies raw materials for textiles and technical textiles in many diverse areas.

We are looking for a Sustainability Manager to report to the R&D and Sustainability Group Manager.

Qualities We Are Looking For
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, Industrial, Textile Engineering or related fields,
  • Leadership experience in ESG and sustainability, preferably in the textile or manufacturing sector,
  • Strong knowledge of local and international sustainability regulations,
  • Experience in ESG strategy, integrated reporting, LCA, carbon and water footprinting,
  • Familiarity with EU Green Deal, REACH, CDP, OEKO-TEX, GRS/RCS,
  • Understanding of retailer brand sustainability requirements,
  • Excellent English communication skills,
  • Analytical, result-oriented, with strong stakeholder management abilities.
Your main tasks are
  • Managing in-house sustainability activities,
  • Writing the integrated reporting,
  • Establishing relationship networks that will contribute to the company's sustainability strategy,
  • Determining scientific-based and realistic sustainability medium and long-term targets throughout the company,
  • Following the regulations and trends that will affect the company on a global scale, informing the company, making the necessary guidance,
  • Working in cooperation with the relevant units to ensure the management and continuity of the certificates the company has,
  • Evaluation of the use of raw materials used and planned to be used in terms of local and global legislation, regulation and the potential of prohibition/restriction,
  • Carrying out customer communication within the scope of product responsibility,
  • Representation of the company on sustainability issues,
  • Managing the responsible projects in parallel with the sustainability strategies,
  • Management of the company's share in climate action,
  • Contributing to the company's activities that will benefit the circular economy in coordination with the relevant units,
  • Making plans to increase corporate sustainability awareness of employees,
  • Experienced in supplier engagement and collaboration activities,
  • Experienced in environmental and social compliance audits.
