Responsibilities

Dataroid is in search of a Senior DevOps Engineer, who will be responsible for the overall health of multiple applications and their operating environments while interacting with development team members to design and deliver the applications with high availability and stability. When a problem occurs, you’ll be the person who analyzes and understands the problem and delegates it to the relevant people. You will apply your cloud and CI/CD skills working with cloud-based and on-prem resources to define standards and processes for the development and deployment of scalable, reliable applications. You will also be responsible for suggesting innovative solutions and carrying out proofs of concepts such as automation of processes and improving integration points.

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc/MSc/PhD degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of experience in DevOps Engineer or SRE role
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux environments such as Ubuntu and/or RHEL
• Understanding of large-scale distributed systems and microservices architecture
• Experience with monitoring systems (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, colloquially collected, Splunk etc.)
• Experience with shell tools (vim, tmux, git, telnet, netcat, ssh, jq, docker-compose etc.)
• Programming and scripting skills (Shell, Python, Java, or Node.js)
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes
• Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD automation build and deployment systems
• Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores such as Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, ScyllaDB, Druid etc.
• Experience with Ansible or similar IaC technologies
• Knowledge of load balancers such as nginx, haproxy, F5 etc.
• Proficiency with Git and Git branching models
• Familiarity with Kafka, Zookeeper, Nexus
• Experience with AWS, Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud, or Oracle Cloud

Nice to have

• Knowledge of messaging systems such as Kafka (+ Zookeeper), RabbitMQ etc.
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases such as Couchbase, MongoDB, DynamoDB etc.
• Knowledge of ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
• In-Memory Cache Systems (Hazelcast, Redis, Memcache etc.)
• Monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana, collector, etc.)
• Knowledge of load balancers such as nginx, haproxy etc.
• Experience with shell tools (vim, tmux, git, telnet, netcat, ssh, jq, docker-compose etc.)
• Knowledge of other cloud providers such as Azure, GCP, Alibaba Cloud etc.
• Experience in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery tools and infrastructure automation (Terraform, CloudFormation etc.)
• Code development in Python, Ruby, Go, Java, Node.js
• Configuration Management tools such as Chef, Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet
• Experience with AWS EC2, ECR, ALB, Route53, S3 etc.
