Job summary

EPAM Systems, Inc. in Turkey seeks a Senior Data Software Engineer to design and maintain data infrastructure and platform tooling for a large engineering organization.

You will build cross-region data exchange solutions, create Databricks-based data sharing capabilities, and support backend integrations used daily by engineers across regions. You will implement scalable Python backends, PySpark data pipelines, and Airflow workflows, while deploying Databricks environments on AWS via Terraform

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Data Software Engineering.
• Strong backend engineering experience in Python, including async patterns and testing with pytest.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, and data pipeline development.
• Proficiency with AWS services (IAM, S3, DynamoDB) and Kubernetes on AWS.
• Familiarity with Terraform and MWAA for data tooling deployment.
• Understanding of data security and privacy principles, including GDPR.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement cross-region data exchange solutions with security and regulatory compliance in mind.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services and data pipelines using Python and PySpark.
• Deploy and manage Databricks environments on AWS via Terraform modules.
• Establish Delta Sharing for secure data sharing across Databricks accounts.
• Develop platform tooling and microservices enabling collaboration across distributed teams.
