At Funstop Games, we're looking for a hands‑on Senior Computer Vision Engineer to build, optimize, and deploy advanced machine learning models for real-world applications.
In this role, you'll take ownership of computer vision projects end to end — from dataset preparation and model training to evaluation, optimization, and production deployment. You'll help shape our AI architecture, establish engineering best practices, and mentor other engineers as our AI capabilities grow.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Development: Design, train, fine‑tune, and evaluate computer vision models for tasks such as object detection, image classification, and instance segmentation.
- Research & Experimentation: Benchmark modern CNN- and transformer‑based architectures, conduct error analysis and ablation studies, and identify opportunities to improve model performance.
- Optimization & Deployment: Improve inference speed, memory efficiency, and computational performance. Prepare models for production and collaborate with backend and infrastructure engineers on scalable deployment.
- Data & Evaluation: Define dataset requirements, improve data quality, address class imbalance and dataset bias, and establish reliable evaluation and validation workflows.
- Engineering Excellence: Build reproducible experimentation pipelines, maintain clean and testable code, and establish best practices for model development and versioning.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor AI/ML engineers, conduct code reviews, guide architectural decisions, and collaborate with product and engineering leadership on technical planning.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience developing computer vision or applied deep learning systems.
- Strong Python and PyTorch skills.
- Solid understanding of deep learning architectures, including CNNs and Vision Transformers, and practical experience with relevant computer vision tasks.
- Experience training and fine‑tuning models on large‑scale image datasets.
- Strong knowledge of evaluation metrics such as precision, recall, F1-score, IoU, and mAP.
- Experience with GPU-based training, model optimization, and production inference or deployment.
- Proficiency in Git, clean code practices, and systematic debugging.
- Ability to independently solve complex technical problems and communicate effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with RF-DETR, RT-DETR, YOLO, Detectron2, MMDetection, or similar frameworks.
- Experience with ONNX Runtime, TensorRT, quantization, or other inference optimization techniques.
- Familiarity with MLflow, Weights & Biases, DVC, or similar experiment tracking tools.
- Experience with cloud‑based GPU infrastructure, large‑scale dataset curation, or active learning.
- Previous experience mentoring engineers or leading technical projects.
- Relevant open‑source contributions, publications, or demonstrable production ML projects.
Interested? We'd love to hear about the computer vision projects you've built, the technical challenges you've solved, and the impact of your work.
