Job summary

An international humanitarian organization in Turkey is seeking a Protection Project Officer to manage and supervise the implementation of protection projects. Protection Project Officer

Overview

The Protection Project Officer will be responsible for managing the protection project and supervising the implementation of the legal activities (Awareness raising, CSD & HLP counseling, CVA for legal issues and relocation) and protection activities (Initiatives, Training, and GP activities). The role ensures that project objectives, plans, documentation, and implementation are on track as per the approved timeline, budget, organization, and donor requirements. The role includes day-to-day management of field staff, reporting on progress and risks, and suggesting mitigation measures. The officer will also conduct field visits to Syria and other project sites as requested.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the protection coordinator in managing the Legal and GP project to meet its objectives within the logical framework, budget, and allotted time frame.
  • Monitor and supervise project activities continuously, and evaluate progress using outputs and impact.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of activities according to applicable timeframes and formats.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly narrative reports and submit them accordingly.
  • Assist in managing field team staff, including day-to-day management and development.
  • Manage budget and ensure that all expenses are coded appropriately and according to budget and meet IYD standards with regard to financial management, including accountability and good governance.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate communication with the team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop the project implementation plan including recruitment, procurement, media, budget tracking, risk management, MEAL, etc in coordination with concerned departments, and update it on a monthly basis.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Monitor the day-to-day logistics, administration, budget forecast & follow-up.
  • Conduct field visits to Syria and project sites to closely observe and report on progress.
Essential Qualifications
  • A university degree in Law, psychology, social studies, humanities, or any other related field.
  • One year of experience managing protection projects such as Legal, GBV, CP, GP.
  • Native in Arabic.
  • Advanced level in English.
  • Advanced narrative reports writing.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Law, psychology, social studies, humanities, or any other related field.
  • Three years of experience managing protection projects such as Legal, GBV, CP, GP.
  • Excellent experience in project management (planning, implementation).
  • Native-like level in English.
