Trendyol is seeking a Data Scientist to advance NLP and information retrieval for multilingual search across regions. You will work on spelling correction, query understanding, and semantic retrieval while owning Arabic-language search initiatives.

The role focuses on building scalable ML solutions, evaluating models, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance product discovery for Trendyol’s customers.

Qualifications

• Experience in applied data science or ML with NLP, IR, or language modeling.
• Professional working proficiency in Arabic; native-level preferred.
• Strong Python and ML library experience (PyTorch, TF, Scikit-Learn).
• Familiarity with vector databases, embedding models, and retrieval systems.

Responsabilités

• Develop and improve query understanding across regions and languages, including spelling correction and normalization.
• Build and evaluate vector search, embeddings, and retrieval models for product discovery.
• Lead Arabic-language search initiatives and address dialectal variation and normalization.
• Analyze large-scale data: queries, content, user interactions for model improvements.
• Design offline evaluation methods and QA metrics; validate via online experiments.
• Collaborate with Search, Pre-Search, Ranking, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Apply MLOps practices to production ML systems for reliability and latency.
• Monitor performance post-deployment and iterate based on data.
