Job summary

GE Aerospace Türkiye’s advanced engineering center in Istanbul hosts a team delivering design and analysis for engines and additve manufacturing. The role focuses on stress and life analyses, design optimization and problem solving within engineering teams, with autonomy in execution and guidance from senior engineers.

The ideal candidate holds a mechanical/aero/metallurgical engineering degree, 6+ years of hands-on FEA using ANSYS or similar, strong CAD skills, and excellent English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level engineering degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Strong fundamentals in solid mechanics, elasticity theory and numerical methods.
• At least 6 years of hands-on FEA experience with ANSYS or similar software.
• Familiarity with CAD software such as Unigraphics or equivalent.
• Excellent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

• Conduct stress and life analyses under guidance for engine certifications and qualifications.
• Design optimization to meet life goals, failure investigations and test capability assessment.
• Provide hands-on mentoring to junior engineers in the team.
• Implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments.
• Monitor and effectively communicate project status, issues and significant developments.

Role Overview:

• Conduct stress and life analyses with the guidance of experienced engineers in scope of engine certifications and qualifications, design optimization to meet life goals, failure investigations and test capability assessment of engine hardware
• Provide hands-on mentoring to junior engineers in the team
• Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve engineering problems
• Implement plans to achieve technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments
• Monitor and effectively communicate projects status, issues and significant development

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated and detail-oriented engineering professional with a strong background in mechanical analysis and strength of materials, as well as a passion for continuous learning and sharing knowledge. They excel in collaborative environments, demonstrate exceptional problem-solving skills, and are adept at leading projects and communicating effectively across teams and stakeholders to drive technical excellence and achieve program goal.

Basic Qualifications:

• Graduated from Mechanical, Aeronautical or Metallurgical Engineering Departments of universities, post graduate degree is a plus
• Have strong engineering fundamentals in solid mechanics, theory of elasticity and numerical methods
• Self-motivated and eager to learn
• At least 6 years of experience hands-on finite element analysis using ANSYS or other commercial FEA software (ABAQUS, Optistruct, Nastran, Patran etc.)
• Familiarity with CAD (Unigraphics or other commercial CAD software)
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
