Job summary

GE Aerospace Türkiye seeks a Lead Design Engineer to design, develop and improve rotor hardware and mechanical systems for aerospace products. You will contribute to both new developments and improvements of existing components, ensuring performance, safety, manufacturability, durability, and cost targets are met.

The role requires 5+ years in mechanical component design, strong CAD/simulation skills, and excellent English.

Qualifications

• BSc and/or MSc in Mechanical or Aerospace / Aeronautical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• At least 5 years of experience in mechanical component design engineering.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
• Familiarity or ability to learn CAD modelling and simulation tools.
• Strong cross-functional teaming, coordination and communication skills.
• Highly motivated, self-starter who is passionate about inventing the next generation of aviation technology.
• Accountability, ownership skills and diligence in meeting commitments within tight schedules.
• Ability to guide and influence others.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for supporting the design, development, and improvement of rotor hardware and mechanical systems for aerospace products.
• This role contributes to both new product development and technical improvement of existing components, helping ensure designs meet requirements for performance, safety, manufacturability, durability, and cost.
• The Lead Design Engineer will execute design review cycles/ hardware releases and provide test support for technology demonstrator rigs, Ground Test and Flight Test Demo engines.
• Plan and execute assigned design activities within established engineering processes, standards, and functional practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as stress, manufacturing, quality, and systems engineering.
• Apply sound technical judgment to routine design decisions and elevate more complex issues as needed.
