Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead HPC Engineer to automate and modernize infrastructure for Windows Workspaces and Linux HPC environments. You will drive modernization of HPC platforms, deploy scalable, multi-AZ environments and support engineering workloads across R&D operations.

The role requires 5+ years in HPC, strong Linux/Windows administration, and expertise with PBS scheduler, VDI, and HPC portals. Collaboration with global teams will be essential for productivity and faster time-to-market.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in HPC and cluster technologies.
• Leadership experience (at least 1 year).
• Expertise in Linux and Windows system administration.
• Proficiency in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI).
• Knowledge of PBS scheduler and HPC job orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Modernize HPC infrastructure and roll out to new accounts.
• Design and oversee Multi-AZ elastic deployments.
• Administer HPC compute environments running PBS.
• Enable engineering workloads (Ansys, Simulia, Abaqus, LS-DYNA, MATLAB).
• Operate Windows Virtual Desktops for Ansys, CREO, NX.
• Migrate virtual desktops to WorkSpaces/NICE DCV.
• Build scalable compute orchestration using PCS.
• Deploy front-end portals for submission and monitoring.
• Design storage using FSx/Lustre, FSx Windows, EFS, NetApp ONTAP.
• Provide high-performance remote desktop services with GPU visualization.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to boost productivity.
