Job summary

EPAM Systems is seeking a seasoned Lead GCP DevOps Engineer to steer Google Cloud Platform solutions for clients. The role focuses on architecture, leadership, and strategic oversight for cloud-native transformations, including defining practices for scalable, reliable deployments.

You will guide teams, own technical decisions, oversee complex deployments, and ensure best practices across CI/CD and IaC while mentoring colleagues to strengthen technical capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or related roles.
At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience.
Advanced qualifications in GCP services (GKE, CloudBuild, Secret Management, Container Registry).
Ability to manage high availability, scalability and security for Kubernetes clusters and cloud apps.
Proficiency with GitHub, including branch strategies and repo management.

Responsibilities

Own clarifying technical requirements and define project scope.
Lead customer engagements to ensure project alignment and success.
Direct and supervise the adaptation of customer apps into a cloud-native framework.
Define and implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD and IaC.
Architect and optimize cloud apps for scalability, including CDN, caching, and load balancing.
Oversee deployment and config of GCP services (identity, network, security, billing).
Document technical decisions, designs, and processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot cloud apps and Kubernetes clusters.
Mentor team members through knowledge-sharing and training.
