Job summary

IDC Brand in Washington State seeks a Home-Based Early Head Start assistant to support home-based instruction, document child growth, and coordinate with EHS staff. You will engage with families to promote early learning and complete clerical duties as needed.

The role requires a CDA or equivalent, strong knowledge of child development, data handling skills, and the ability to work with diverse communities. Travel to support sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Current home-based CDA credential or comparable credential (Infant Toddler CDA or State Initial ECE Certificate plus Family Development Credential), or equivalent coursework as part of an associate's or bachelor's degree.
• Extensive knowledge and understanding of child development theories and practices.
• Experience in a federally funded and regulated environment.
• Experience in policy and procedure processes.
• Experience in planning and facilitating groups.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience in classroom risk management.
• Understanding of the interrelationships between services and systems.
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly and efficiently.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office; and
• Accurate data, documentation and recordkeeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Implementation of Service Plan for Early Head Start Home-Base and plan/fill in substitutes for weekly home visits with learning activities.
• Recruitment, Enrollment, Data Tracking: assist to identify eligible families and document registrations using the data management system.
• Family and Community Partnerships: perform family needs assessments and refer to community services.
• Health and Developmental Screenings/Children with Disabilities: assist with screenings and data entry, coordinate with health staff.
• Clerical Support: provide data entry, filing, drafting correspondence, and reporting.
• Confidential Information: maintain confidentiality of health records and participant data.
• In-Kind Contributions: assist in obtaining in-kind donations and encouraging volunteers.
