Job summary

Curiosity Technology in Istanbul is seeking an AI Product Enginee r to own production systems, deploy and optimize AI models, and contribute to backend and frontend development. You will review code, ensure security, and support DevSecOps while working closely with a small, fast-paced startup team.

Ideal candidates have strong experience with AI deployment, real-time systems, and Agile delivery. The role requires on-site work in Istanbul and willingness to participate in on-call duties to keep

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience deploying AI/ML models in production.

We're looking for a hands-on AI Product Engineer who can take ownership of production systems, maintain and optimize AI models, review code, and help us build reliable, scalable products.

We value engineering judgment, ownership, and execution over titles and buzzwords.

What You'll Do

• Code Quality & PR Reviews: Review pull requests, enforce coding standards, identify architectural weaknesses, and catch bugs, security vulnerabilities, and technical debt, including issues introduced by AI-generated or vibe-coded code.
• AI Model Operations: Deploy, monitor, maintain, update, and optimize AI/LLM models and inference pipelines in production environments.
• Software Engineering: Contribute directly to backend and frontend development, debugging, refactoring, performance optimization, and feature delivery.
• DevSecOps & Infrastructure: Support CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, infrastructure monitoring, vulnerability management, and secure software delivery.
• Production Reliability: Investigate incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and ensure system stability.
• Real‑Time AI Systems: Improve conversational AI pipelines involving LLMs, speech‑to‑text (STT), text‑to‑speech (TTS), and real‑time communication.
• Indoor Navigation: Support the development and maintenance of indoor mapping, routing algorithms, and intelligent navigation features.
• Agile Delivery: Manage engineering tasks, participate in sprint planning, and maintain clear technical documentation using Jira or similar tools.
• Operational Support: Participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation when required, including remote troubleshooting and occasional on‑site interventions.

We’re Looking For

• Solid understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative software development.
• Ability to critically review AI-generated code, detect subtle logic errors, security risks, and maintainability issues, and improve code quality.
• Hands‑on experience with AI/ML model deployment, inference, monitoring, and production maintenance.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles, CI/CD, secure coding, dependency management, and vulnerability remediation.
• Experience with Docker, Linux, REST APIs, and production infrastructure. Kubernetes knowledge is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with LLM architectures, RAG systems, model serving, and GPU‑based inference environments.
• Experience working with Jira, Scrum, Agile workflows, and structured software delivery processes.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, technical ownership, and the ability to work independently in a fast‑moving startup environment.
• Professional working proficiency in English.
• Ability to work on‑site at our Istanbul office and reliably commute when required.
• Availability to participate in scheduled on‑call duties and respond to critical production incidents outside regular business hours.

Nice to Have

• Experience with LiveKit, WebRTC, real‑time voice AI, STT/TTS, or voice activity detection.
• Experience with vLLM, Hugging Face, PyTorch, fine‑tuning, or local/on‑premise AI deployments.
• Experience with MicroK8s, Kubernetes, NVIDIA GPU infrastructure, or AI inference optimization.
• Knowledge of indoor navigation, GIS, graph algorithms, route optimization, or digital mapping.
• Experience with React, Next.js, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and vector databases.
• Experience supporting AI applications deployed on kiosks, edge devices, or distributed environments.
