Job summary

A leading construction firm in Singapore is seeking a qualified Workplace Safety & Health Specialist. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with local safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health, at least 3 years of experience in the construction industry, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Roles & Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) policies and Company Safety Management System (SMS) in compliance with all relevant local laws and regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments for workshops and worksites to identify potential hazards and implement appropriate control measures.
  • Ensure all employees are properly equipped with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and receive required safety training (e.g. forklift, overhead crane operation).
  • Carry out regular inspections and audits on fire protection systems, machinery, and general workplace safety standards.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents, identify root causes, and recommend or implement corrective and preventive actions. Prepare and submit incident reports to MOM, and handle all matters related to work injury cases.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of inspections, incidents, and training activities.
  • Provide advice and guidance to management and staff on WSH matters, including compliance with ISO 45001, BizSAFE, and risk management frameworks.
  • Monitor and review new WSH regulations, industry trends, and best practices to support continuous improvement in workplace safety culture and performance.
Requirements
  • Candidate must possess at least a Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health
  • Possess a valid registration with MOM
  • Familiar with ISO documentation
  • Must possess professional knowledge in Law and regulations (WSH Act and Environment)
  • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in construction industry
  • Able to work independently with positive attitude
  • Possess good leadership and organisation abilities
  • Good communication and computer literate
