Job summary

A leading construction company in Singapore is seeking a qualified individual to assist with health and safety management on site. The role involves inspecting operations, ensuring compliance, and conducting safety training. Ideal candidates will have at least 5 years of experience in construction and hold a Workplace Safety and Health certification. This position requires working 5.5 days a week at the project site office.

Qualifications

Job description
Responsibilities
  • To assist the WSHO and ECO in the implementation and maintenance of the Health Safety and Environmental Management System;
  • To inspect and monitor the construction operations in their area of responsibility are carried out safely;
  • To promote the safe conduct of the work generally within the work site;
  • To inspect and monitor the rectification work of any unsafe practices and unsafe condition which may likely result in accident;
  • Liaise with sub-contractors' Site Supervisor and WSH Coordinator with respect to health and safety compliance for work undertaken by sub- contractor;
  • To ensure all workers & staff are equipped with the necessary PPE for the work;
  • To assist in conducting Risk Assessment, Safe Work Procedure, Method Statement, and briefing site personnel;
  • To assist in conducting Mass Tool Box Meeting;
  • To inspect, monitor and verify all statutory equipment are with valid certification and in good working condition;
  • To ensure all Lifting Gear, Lifting Machine, Lifting Appliance, etc. conform to monthly colour coding;
  • To ensure all necessary document are filed and documented;
  • To assist in the provision and maintenance of proper first aid facilities and sufficient safety equipment;
  • To conduct HSE induction courses for new employees and sub-contractors and organize site promotions and generally to promote safety on site;
  • To assist the WSHO in collecting information and preparing statutory and site reports;
  • To assist and take charge in the event of an accident and to organize the treatment and evacuation of the injured, the notification of emergency services and notification of the project management;
  • Working closely with the construction team to ensure that safe working practices are implemented and followed on site and take immediate action to remedy unsafe conditions and practices;
  • Recommending to the WSHO if disciplinary actions are necessary to enforce the HSE regulations and procedures.
Requirements
  • WSH Certification: Hold an Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety and Health (Level B).
  • Relevant Experience: Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the Construction field.
  • Legal Knowledge: Demonstrate strong knowledge of the Workplace Safety and Health Act.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Willing to work 5.5 days/week at project site office.
