Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operations in the workshop, including cutting, welding, grinding, drilling, and repairs.
• Interpret engineering drawings and translate them into clear work instructions.
• Allocate manpower and monitor job progress to meet schedule and quality expectations.
• Ensure fabrication work aligns with structural integrity and requirements.
• Inspect completed jobs for workmanship and welding quality.
• Support root cause analysis of failed components and propose improvements.
• Ensure availability of materials and tools for jobs.
• Monitor usage of supplies to control costs.
• Supervise technicians and identify training needs.
• Ensure compliance with safety rules and housekeeping.

Workshop Supervisor (Engineering)

Location: Tuas

(Company Transport / Transport Allowance if candidate travels to work by themselves)

Working hours: Monday to Friday (8am – 5pm), Saturday (8am – 12pm)

Basic: $3000 to $3400 + Entitled to OT

Minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Welding, Fabrication technology, or a related field.

5+ years of experience in industrial metal work, including supervisory experience.

Able to read and interpret technical drawings, fabrication standards, and welding procedures.

Familiar with common tools: MIG/TIG/Stick welding, grinder, gas cutter, plasma cutter, slip roller & etc.

Safety knowledge of hot work and workshop safety regulations.

• Supervisor technicians and provide on job coaching, identify training needs and skills gaps; propose development plans for the team.
• Ensure compliance with workshop safety rules, PPE usage, permit protocols and housekeeping of area.
