Job summary

A construction company in Singapore is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Officer to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote health and safety initiatives. The ideal candidate must have WSHO registration and at least 2 years of experience in construction projects. Responsibilities include conducting safety audits, implementing safety plans, and investigating incidents. Competitive salary based on qualifications and experience.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction projects.

Job description
Responsibilities
  • Assist project sites in implementing and maintaining site safety plans
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) legal and other regulatory requirements and actively promote the company's WSH programmes
  • Liaise with MOM on safety matters, including factory permit applications and other statutory compliance requirements
  • Advise and assist the Project Manager in identifying and assessing foreseeable risks arising from work activities or processes
  • Recommend and implement risk control measures to eliminate or minimise hazards at the workplace
  • Develop and review safe work procedures tailored to soil investigation and construction-related activities
  • Conduct regular site safety audits and inspections
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence
  • Report and follow up on injuries, damages, and losses incurred
  • Monitor corrective and preventive actions taken by relevant parties to address non-conformities
  • Ensure all health and safety policies and operational control procedures are strictly adhered to by staff, workers, and subcontractors
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Registered with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
  • Possess MOM-recognized certificates in Workplace Safety and Health
  • Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in construction projects (especially in pilling or other related foundation works)
  • Able to start work immediately or within short notice
