Job summary

A construction and engineering firm in Singapore is seeking a Health and Safety Officer to develop safety policies, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in a relevant field and at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry, along with various safety certifications. This role is crucial for maintaining high safety standards on-site.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in construction industry.
  • Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO).
  • Certificates in various health and safety courses.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and develop Company’s safety policy and procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Formulate and develop Company’s safety policy and procedures
  • Assist and enforce sites to implement site health and safety plans
  • Perform health and safety audits on sites
  • Conduct periodic health and safety training for site personnel
  • Maintain Company's health and safety statistics and records
  • Liaise with Government Agencies on health and safety issues, application of factory permit and other safety statutory requirements for compliance by sites
  • Investigate all accidents which occur and recommend appropriate health & safety measures to prevent their occurrence
  • Assist Senior Project Manager / Project Manager on all site safety matters
  • Ensure the Occupational Health Safety management programme are effectively implemented and maintained
  • Conduct and plan safety training awareness programme
  • Hands‑on, detail oriented and able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff
  • Positive attitude, team player and committed to continuous improvement
Job Requirements
  • Diploma / Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years relevant working experience in construction industry
  • Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
  • Certificate - Design for Safety Appreciation Course
  • Certificate - Environmental Control Officer for Specified Construction Sites
  • Certificate - Develop Risk Management Implementation Plan
  • Certificate – WSQ Manage Workplace Safety and Health in Construction Sites
  • Certificate - WSQ Manage Work At Height
  • Familiar with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 is an added advantage.
