A prominent construction firm in Singapore is seeking a Workplace Safety and Health Officer to oversee risk management and ensure compliance with safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess at least 5 years of experience in the construction industry, hold relevant certifications, and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills. This role entails conducting inspections, monitoring safety records, and advocating for a robust safety culture within the company.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ experience as WSHO in the construction industry.
  • Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower.
  • Registered Environmental Control Officer with NEA.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the Risk Management process.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits.
  • Monitor and review records from accidents and incidents.

Job description

Participate in the Risk Management process at various stages as appropriate.

Ensure compliance to statutory regulations, code of practice, client’s requirement and the Company’s safety rules and regulations.

Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure that work activities are carried out in a safe manner.

Provide advice and support to the project teams.

Monitor and review records arising from accidents, incidents, external complaints, inspections, audits, reviews, statistics, etc.

Conduct Health, Safety & Environmental committee meetings.

Assist the project team to implement safe work procedures and measures.

Implement the company-wide HSEMS.

Advocate and establish a strong safety culture within the company.

Organize and promote EHS activities and raise the safety awareness of site personnel.

Requirements

Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health or related Engineering Disciplines.

Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer with the Ministry of Manpower.

Registered Environmental Control Officer with NEA.

Registered Earth Control Measures Officer.

At least 5 years’ experience as WSHO in the construction industry, preferably with prior experience involved in LTA projects.

Candidate with relevant Environmental Control certification will have an added advantage.

Excellent team player, good interpersonal skills and a “can-do” attitude.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
