Job summary

A company in Singapore is seeking an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Officer to assist the Project Manager, ensure compliance with regulations, and conduct site audits to promote safety. Candidates should preferably have certifications in WSHO, ECO, and ECMO. This role requires proactive measures to avoid penalties from authorities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and advise the Project Manager in EHS planning.
  • Review and ensure full understanding of ISO standards and EHS requirements.
  • Liaise with authorities and maintain compliance documentation.
  • Conduct regular site audits to verify adherence to EHS standards.
  • Manage and document all accident and incident reports.
  • Collaborate with the project team and subcontractors for safety.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent fines and SWOs from authorities.
Job description
Responsibilities
  • Assist and advise the Project Manager in Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) planning for both the overall project scope and specific activities.
  • Review and ensure full understanding of company ISO standards, EHS requirements, and subcontract agreements.
  • Liaise with relevant authorities and maintain proper documentation to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular site audits to verify adherence to EHS standards, with authority to implement necessary actions, including issuing partial stop-work orders in consultation with the Project Manager.
  • Manage and document all accident and incident reports promptly and accurately.
  • Collaborate closely with the project team and subcontractors to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Take proactive measures to prevent fines, demerit points, or stop-work orders (SWOs) from authorities such as MOM, NEA, and HDB—this is a key responsibility and performance metric for the WSHO cum ECO role.
