A leading engineering construction firm in Singapore is seeking a WSHE Coordinator to enhance safety practices on-site. Responsibilities include identifying unsafe conditions, conducting safety trainings, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have experience in safety assessment and hazard identification, with a commitment to promoting safety awareness among all site personnel.

Qualifications

Job Description & Requirements

Assist the occupier of the worksite to identify any unsafe condition in the worksite or unsafe work practice which is carried out in the worksite;

Recommend to the occupier of the worksite to implement such reasonably practicable measures to remedy the unsafe condition or unsafe work practice;

Assist the occupier of the worksite to implement such reasonably practicable measures to ensure work activities at their respective areas of responsibility are carried out with compliance to the WSH Act and the applicable WSH Legislations, especially the WSH (Construction) Regulations 2007 and the WSH (Work at Heights) Regulations 2013;

The WSHE Coordinator shall be accountable for the assigned responsibilities as follows:

  • Conduct safety talks / toolbox meetings;
  • Promote safety and health awareness among subcontractors and workers;
  • Recommend safety and health measures to all site personnel including engineers; supervisors, foremen, subcontractors and nominated subcontractors;
  • Attend Monthly Project WSHE Committee Meetings and Inspections;
  • Conduct WSHE trainings and organise WSHE campaign programmes;
  • Supervise the installation of safety and health campaign programmes;
  • Carry out site physical inspections and hazard identifications on a daily basis;
  • Carry out regular checks on the health of the workers;
  • Stop unsafe work practices or notify construction manager of any WSHE deviation observed.
