About the Role

Our client is a large public-sector organisation in Singapore, responsible for managing and operating critical national ICT infrastructure at scale. They are seeking an experienced Windows ICT Infrastructure Engineer to design, implement, and sustain robust Windows server environments while actively driving operational efficiency through automation and AI-assisted engineering. This role sits at the intersection of traditional infrastructure engineering and modern intelligent operations - making it an exciting opportunity for engineers who want to go beyond routine administration and shape how AI and automation are applied to real-world infrastructure challenges. The successful candidate will work closely with application teams, operations staff, and service providers to deliver resilient, secure, and well-governed Windows infrastructure for mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage Windows server infrastructure to meet availability, continuity, security, and capacity requirements across critical business applications
• Translate business and application requirements into appropriate Windows infrastructure solutions, supporting architecture reviews, implementation planning, and operational readiness
• Provision, configure, and maintain Windows virtual machines and associated platform services throughout their full lifecycle
• Perform capacity planning, performance monitoring, lifecycle management, and in-depth troubleshooting of Windows Server and Active Directory environments
• Act as the primary Windows infrastructure technical point of contact for new application and platform initiatives, working closely with internal teams and external service providers

AI & Technical Automation

• Drive operational efficiency by designing, developing, and maintaining PowerShell scripts and automation runbooks that reduce repetitive manual tasks and improve consistency across Windows infrastructure operations
• Automate a broad range of operational activities including server provisioning, Active Directory administration, configuration and security hardening checks, health monitoring, log collection, and remediation
• Apply AI tools to infrastructure operations - including AI-assisted scripting, log and event analysis, anomaly detection, and operational troubleshooting - to accelerate diagnosis and improve reliability
• Use AI-assisted development environments to accelerate script development, testing, and documentation, ensuring all outputs are technically validated before deployment into production
• Continuously identify opportunities to convert manual operational procedures into controlled, repeatable, and well-documented automation runbooks with appropriate validation, logging, exception handling, and rollback considerations
• Maintain automation artefacts and configuration items using version-control and change-management practices in line with established governance processes

Security, Governance & Operational Readiness

• Ensure Windows infrastructure solutions and automation comply with applicable technical architecture standards, security frameworks, and IT governance policies relevant to the public-sector context
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational procedures, and runbooks; support knowledge transfer to operations teams and service providers

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in Windows Server engineering and Microsoft Active Directory administration, including Group Policy management, AD backup and recovery, Sites and Services design, authentication and authorisation mechanisms, migration and upgrade planning, and troubleshooting complex AD issues
• Strong PowerShell scripting and technical automation capabilities, with demonstrated experience automating Windows infrastructure administration tasks including DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, Windows clustering, and high-availability configurations
• Practical experience applying AI tools to infrastructure operations, such as AI-assisted troubleshooting, scripting acceleration, log analysis, or anomaly detection in a production or near-production environment
• Solid understanding of Windows security hardening, configuration management, and governance requirements in environments with high availability and strict security controls
• Experience with AIOps platforms, infrastructure automation frameworks, or configuration automation tooling (is a bonus)
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal engineering teams, operations staff, and external service providers in a structured, process-driven environment
