Job summary

Sembcorp is hiring a Performance Engineer (Water/Wastewater) based in Jurong Island, Singapore. You will lead treatability analyses, run lab and pilot studies, and optimize processes to ensure reliable plant performance. You’ll support the Commercial team with technical insights and help identify cost-saving opportunities.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Environmental or Chemical Engineering and at least 2 years of relevant experience, with strong data-analysis and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant water/wastewater experience.
• Hands-on experience in laboratory and pilot-scale testing.
• Proficient in MS Excel for data analysis.
• Strong communication with Operations, Commercial teams and Customers.
• Familiarity with wastewater modeling or RO projection software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run laboratory and pilot-scale studies for troubleshooting and optimization.
• Conduct treatability analyses, propose treatment schemes and estimate costs.
• Manage R&D lab operations, equipment and budgeting.
• Maintain detailed experimental records and write technical reports.
• Support process optimization projects and track performance improvements.
• Provide process engineering input for plant upgrades and safety reviews.
• Coordinate with O&M teams during customer shutdowns to prevent upsets.
