Job summary

Job description
Warranty Engineer (Rotating / gas turbines / Jurong Island)

Receive, validate, and process warranty claims for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and control systems under the scope of responsibility.

Strengthen communications between customers and contractors regarding warranty claims.

Track warranty periods and ensure timely submission of claims to internal teams and vendors.

Monitor and maintain detailed records of warranty claims, warranty periods, working status, resolutions, costs and financial recoveries.

Generate periodic reports on warranty trends, costs, and supplier performance.

Ensure warranty processes align with contractual obligations and industry standards.

Lead or facilitate on‑site fact finding, technical investigations, and root cause analysis (RCA) of warranty claims, and perform frequent reporting as necessary.

Consult with internal engineering teams or external partners for technical advice on equipment defects under warranty.

Collaborate with customer, internal teams and external suppliers to facilitate the gathering of failure data and operational insights.

Closely liaise with internal teams from factories, 3rd party suppliers, and local vendors to diagnose defects, propose, plan and implement corrective actions, and ensure timely response and resolution of warranty issues.

Coordinate schedules for vendor site visits and handle various procedures for site access and permit to work.

Lead or facilitate negotiations for cost recovery and ensure compliance with warranty terms.

Monitor supplier performance and elevate recurring issues.

Identify and define problems in the warranty process, analyze root causes, propose and implement improvements.

Analyze warranty data, highlight plant equipment or process design issues and suggest improvements to internal engineering teams or external partners.

Support reliability engineering initiatives by internal engineering teams or external partners.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a relevant technical field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction, commissioning, warranty, maintenance, or reliability engineering in the process plant or power generation sector.
  • Broad cross‑domain (Mechanical, instrumentation, controls, electrical) knowledge in process plant systems and equipment.
  • Prior technical knowledge and skills in gas turbine combined cycle (GTCC) power plants or open cycle gas turbine (OCGT) power plants is preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Familiarity with RCA tools (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5 Whys).
  • Proficient in MS Office and CMMS systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
  • This role is based at various sites in Jurong Island.
