Job description

Preparing, processing, and verifying import and export documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists. Ensuring compliance with customs regulations, tariff systems, and other relevant laws and procedures.

Customs Clearance

Coordinating the clearance of goods through customs, including calculating and arranging for the payment of duties and taxes.

Communication and Coordination

Maintaining clear and effective communication with internal teams, clients, and external parties such as freight forwarders and customs brokers.

Problem Solving

Identifying and resolving issues related to customs clearance, such as delays, discrepancies, or regulatory challenges.

Record Keeping

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records of all customs-related transactions and documentation.

Advising and Consulting

Providing guidance and advice to clients on import/export regulations, tariff classifications, and other customs-related matters.

Staying informed about changes in customs regulations and trade policies, and contributing to process improvements in customs clearance operations.

Specific Tasks
  • Completing customs declaration forms and applying for tariff advice.
  • Organizing and classifying shipments according to established procedures.
  • Monitoring international shipments and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Handling temporary importations and related paperwork.
  • Liaising with governmental organizations and regulatory bodies.
  • Managing and overseeing the customs clearance process for imported and exported goods.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of shipping documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Leading training sessions on customs compliance and best practices.
