The Warehouse Assistant supports the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring all construction materials, tools, and equipment are received, stored, and issued accurately and efficiently. The role is essential in maintaining proper inventory control and ensuring timely delivery of materials to project sites in support of ongoing construction works.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, check, and unload incoming materials, tools, and equipment from suppliers or project sites.
- Verify materials against delivery orders (DO), purchase orders (PO), and supplier invoices.
- Label, store, and organize materials in proper storage locations according to company procedures.
- Assist in picking, packing, and dispatching materials to construction sites based on requisitions.
- Maintain accurate stock records and update inventory systems (manual or digital).
- Conduct periodic stock checks and report any discrepancies or damaged goods.
- Coordinate with the Logistics and Project teams for timely material delivery.
- Ensure the warehouse area is clean, safe, and well-organized at all times.
- Comply with all Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and company policies.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by the Warehouse Supervisor or Management.
Requirements
- Minimum Secondary education (N’ / O’ Level) or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of relevant warehouse experience, preferably in the construction sector.
- Familiar with warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics procedures.
- Forklift license (WSQ-certified) is an advantage.
- Physically fit and able to handle loading/unloading work when required.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, inventory software).
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Able to work overtime or weekends when necessary to support project schedules.
