Job Overview: The warehouse assistant will play a vital role in the efficient operation of the warehouse. Responsibilities will involve assisting with various tasks related to receiving, storage, warehouse management, and distribution. They will work closely with the warehouse supervisor and other team members to ensure that the warehouse is running in the safest, most efficient way while maintaining accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving and Unloading: Receive incoming shipments, and verify contents against accompanying documents (such as invoices or packing lists). Ensure accuracy in receiving and reporting any discrepancies to supervisors.
• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by following proper WMS processes, and organizing, and storing goods in designated warehouse locations. Conduct periodic physical inventory counts to reconcile discrepancies and ensure stock accuracy.
• Outbound Processing: Fulfill orders by accurately picking items according to WMS processes. Pack orders securely and prepare them for shipment, adhering to specific packing instructions and quality standards.
• Material Handling: Operate material handling equipment, such as reach trucks and power pallet jacks to safely transport and move inventory within the warehouse. Adhere to proper safety protocols and guidelines while handling equipment and materials.
• Maintaining Cleanliness and Organization: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free of hazards. Sweep floors, clear aisles, and properly dispose of packaging materials to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.
• Assisting with Other Duties: Support other warehouse operations and tasks as needed, including but not limited to cycle counting, and assisting with inventory audits or special projects.

Requirements

• Minimally GCE O or N, or an equivalency
• Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, and to stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods.
• Computer literacy is preferred
• Familiarity with warehouse equipment and machinery, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, is a plus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Willingness to adhere to safety guidelines and procedures at all times.
