Job Description

As a lead of the Service Operations automation team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the stability, efficiency, and readiness of the bank's batch processing environment across multiple platforms – including Mainframe, AS/400, UNIX, and Windows – supporting a 24x7 Command Center. This role requires deep expertise in batch scheduling and automation, strong project management capabilities, and the ability to drive performance optimization initiatives. You will lead strategic efforts to modernize monitoring frameworks, implement automation solutions, and ensure seamless transition of projects into production. Success in this role demands exceptional stakeholder engagement, technical proficiency, and a commitment to operational excellence in a mission‑critical environment.

Batch Operations Expertise
  • Collaborate with development and production support teams to understand application batch flows and ensure operational readiness.
  • Act as an SME in batch management, ensuring compliance with operational standards and best practices.
  • Develop and implement frameworks for operations acceptance to support smooth project transitions into production.
Performance Optimization & Automation
  • Identify service improvement opportunities to drive batch performance.
  • Implement real‑time monitoring, alerting, and automation solutions.
  • Familiarity with modern dashboards and analytics for SLA tracking to replace legacy monitoring tools.
Project & Transition Management
  • Strong capability in managing batch‑related activities in strategic projects, including resource planning and cost estimations.
  • Perform detailed dependency analysis, resource estimation, and milestone planning.
  • Experience with UAT, OAT, PRQ documentation and reviews.
Tools Development & Enhancement
  • Design and deploy operational tools for workload automation and shift management.
  • Collaborate with development teams for scalable solutions.
Stakeholder Engagement & Reporting
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills across technology and operations.
  • Ability to deliver accurate reports on batch performance and risk metrics.
  • Support disaster recovery and role swap activities.
Operations Management
  • Serve as the designated backup to the IT Operations Lead, providing day‑to‑day operational oversight and management to ensure continuity of leadership and strengthen the team's operational resilience.
  • Oversee incident escalation and resolution during critical periods, ensuring adherence to SLA commitments and maintaining uninterrupted service availability in a 24x7 Command Center environment.
  • Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience: 8‑10 years of experience in Command Center Operations and Batch Processing domains.
  • Language: Fluency in both spoken and written English.
  • Leadership Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills, proven ability to influence stakeholders with excellent communication and subject expertise, drive operational excellence.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrates a proactive and innovative approach to resolving complex operational challenges and driving service improvements, leveraging ITIL best practices to ensure process efficiency and compliance.
  • People Management: Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop diverse teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance in a 24x7 operational environment.
Technical Skills:
  • Batch Scheduling Tools: BMC Control‑M, IBM Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS), CA Workload Automation, or equivalent enterprise scheduling platform tools.
  • IT Service Management (ITSM): ServiceNow, BMC Remedy, Helix, TrueSight, Splunk, BHOM and related toolsets.
  • Project Management: Project lifecycle methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, MS Project).
  • Operating Systems: IBM Mainframe z/OS, AS400, UNIX, Windows and Open‑Source platforms. Proficiency in at least two operating system environments is preferred.
