Job summary

Qualifications

Job Summary

Lead the strategic development and implementation of advanced business analytics and insights solutions to drive informed decision-making and optimize performance across United Overseas Bank Ltd. This role focuses on leveraging data to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and enhance customer experience.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the overall strategy for business analytics and insights, aligning with UOB's strategic objectives.
• Lead a team of data scientists, analysts, and reporting specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
• Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics initiatives, from data collection and processing to model development, deployment, and performance monitoring.
• Translate complex data findings into actionable insights and compelling narratives for senior management and various business units.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Drive the adoption of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning, predictive modeling, and AI, to solve complex business problems.
• Establish and maintain robust data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, privacy, and security standards are met.
• Evaluate and recommend new analytics tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance analytical capabilities.
• Monitor industry trends and best practices in business analytics and insights, continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.
• Present analytical findings and recommendations to executive leadership, influencing strategic direction and investment decisions.

Job Qualifications

• Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in business analytics, data science, or a similar role, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful analytics strategies in a financial services environment, preferably banking.
• Deep expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and predictive analytics techniques.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R, and experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
• Strong experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) and advanced SQL.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to build, mentor, and lead high-performing analytics teams.
• Strong understanding of financial products, services, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) for analytics deployment is a plus.
