Overview

MSSG is looking for a Technology Services & Security Lead responsible for the stability, resilience, security, and governance of the organisation’s technology services. The role owns day-to-day technology operations, end-user computing, infrastructure, and IT security, while ensuring strong risk management, compliance, and service delivery.

This role acts as a key interface between business, technology teams, vendors, risk, compliance, and audit, with a focus on minimising operational risk, improving platform stability, and strengthening the overall security posture.

Responsibilities

Technology Services & Operations

  • Own the delivery and stability of technology services across infrastructure, platforms, and end-user computing.
  • Lead incident management, escalation, and resolution to minimise business impact and downtime.
  • Ensure services are delivered in line with agreed SLAs, ITSM practices, and operational standards.
  • Oversee change, release, patching, and deployment activities, including post-implementation verification.
  • Drive automation of repetitive operational tasks to improve efficiency and reduce BAU risk.
  • Monitor infrastructure and EUC performance, identify improvement opportunities, and proactively prevent future issues.
  • Lead vendor and third-party service management for infrastructure and platform services.

Security, Risk & Compliance

  • Oversee security operations, vulnerability management, threat mitigation, and incident response.
  • Ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of systems and data.
  • Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory requirements, and external security standards.
  • Own remediation of audit findings, cyber hygiene actions, and self-identified risk items.
  • Manage Technology Risk Exceptions (TREs), including governance, review, and tracking.
  • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Audit teams during reviews, audits, and regulatory engagements.

Governance, Stakeholder & Leadership

  • Act as a senior escalation point for technology and security incidents.
  • Provide clear, timely, and accurate updates to senior management and business stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with business teams to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Drive a culture of security awareness and operational discipline across technology teams.
  • Mentor and guide team members to build capability and resilience.
Qualifications

Technical & Operational

  • 10+ years’ experience in technology operations and/or security roles
  • Strong experience in infrastructure services (on-prem and cloud – AWS/Azure).
  • End-user computing technologies (laptops, desktops, patching, device management).
  • Operating systems: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL), infrastructure appliances.
  • Networking: firewalls, routers, WAN, VPN, IDS/IPS, MPLS.
  • Virtualisation and container platforms.
  • Storage, backup, and recovery solutions.
  • Middleware and platform technologies (e.g. Nginx/IIS, application servers, messaging, APIs).
  • Monitoring, observability, and automation tooling.
  • ITSM processes (incident, problem, change, release).

Security & Risk

  • Security governance, policies, and regulatory compliance.
  • Vulnerability management and cyber hygiene programs.
  • Incident response and crisis management.
  • Risk assessment, mitigation planning, and control design.
  • Audit engagement and remediation tracking.

Leadership & Delivery

  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate calmly under pressure and lead during incidents.
  • Structured problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Proven ability to balance operational stability with change delivery.
  • Experience working with vendors and offshore teams.
