Corporate and Investment Banking provides corporate customers with a full range of commercial banking products and services, including cash management services, current accounts, time deposits, trade finance, working capital finance, term loans and foreign exchange. As a Team Head, you will lead a team of Relationship Managers in driving these relationships and expanding our footprint within the assigned industry segments.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Relationship Managers to achieve individual and team‑level business development and revenue targets within the segment
- Develop and implement strategic account plans for the team, identifying and initiating opportunities to expand existing portfolios and develop new ones to build and strengthen the industry franchise
- Provide strategic direction and oversight to the team in completing and executing account plans on clients across identified target markets, ensuring effective business development and collaboration with internal partners across various geographies
- Drive and oversee the team's efforts in increasing product penetration and cross‑selling of Institutional Banking Group’s (IBG) services including capital markets, transaction banking services, and treasury. This involves ensuring the team demonstrates a deep understanding of clients’ business needs, generates effective solutions, and procures support from product groups
- Ensure the timely submission and quality control of RFPs, pitches, credit memos, and supervision reports by the team, and guarantee adherence to deal execution timelines
- Review and validate complex financial models prepared by the team, including P&L, B/S & cash‑flow projections based on sound business and market assumptions
- Oversee proactive monitoring and management of the team's accounts, ensuring alertness to credit deterioration or improvement, and guiding timely action (including elevation to senior bankers and credit)
- Lead and guide the team in conceptualizing and undertaking corporate finance analysis, including capital structure analysis, valuation analysis, and comparables
- Provide expert guidance and oversight to the team in independently handling loan & security documentation and negotiations, ensuring a high degree of competence and compliance
- Champion and contribute to industry‑related research and strategy exercises, such as the development of new growth areas, country strategies, and industry benchmarking, leveraging team insights
- Foster a high‑performance culture within the team, promoting continuous learning, skill development, and adherence to bank policies and regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in corporate lending and relationship management of Mid‑Cap clients, with at least 3‑5 years in a leadership or team management capacity
- Proven track record of leading and motivating a team to achieve business objectives and drive revenue growth
- Strong credit and financial analytical skills, with the ability to review, guide, and validate complex financial models, cashflow analysis, and debt capacity analysis for intricate lending structures
- Deep knowledge of corporate bank products and strong understanding of the competitive landscape
- Demonstrated ability to undertake and lead industry‑level research, with excellent writing, presentation, and communication skills, including the ability to present to senior management
- Experience of working with databases such as Capital IQ and proficiency in MS Excel and Power Point will be an advantage
- A strong leader and team player possessing excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills, with a strong drive to meet and exceed business targets and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management
- Highly results‑oriented with an established network and track record in identifying, developing, and closing significant business opportunities
- Advanced knowledge of accounting and finance, financial modelling, and business presentation, with the ability to mentor and develop these skills within the team
