Job summary

GIC is seeking a senior leader to drive data and technology initiatives within Enterprise Data & Analytics. You will shape data strategy, design scalable data products for investment and risk teams, and guide platform delivery across the firm.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with solution architects, and partner with senior stakeholders to maximise data value. This role blends technology leadership with financial services domain expertise.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of data and technology experience, including 5–8 years leading cross-functional teams.

Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA)

Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) harnesses one of GIC’s most valuable assets — data — to generate insights, drive outcomes and solve complex business challenges. We ingest, analyse and contextualise data across industries and asset classes to support investment decision‑making and enhance investment processes. Together, we are building a high‑performance enterprise data infrastructure, developing outcome‑oriented data products and enabling GIC’s transformation into a data‑driven organisation.

What will you do in this role?

Be part of an ambitious technology team supporting top‑of‑the‑house investment activities, where data and analytics capabilities directly influence the long‑term risk and reward profile of GIC’s total portfolio.

• Play a pivotal role in the design, build and adoption of technology solutions consumed by investment and risk professionals across the firm, working closely with solution architects and subject matter experts to build robust, scalable and impactful data products.
• Build trusted relationships with senior business leaders, data management teams and technology partners to align priorities, manage trade‑offs and drive tangible, high‑impact business outcomes.
• Manage the delivery of business solutions by applying strong analytical judgement, shaping delivery requirements, and priorities, as well as guiding teams to create measurable data and technology value for the business.
• Develop deep domain understanding of investment processes and technology capabilities across the firm, and apply this knowledge to shape data strategy, solution design and delivery execution.
• Provide data and technical leadership, direction and mentorship to raise the quality bar for data and engineering talent, while attracting, developing and retaining high‑performing professionals.
• Collaborate as an experienced team player, working directly with investment, data and technology professionals across GIC.

• 15 or more years of relevant data and technology experience, preferably in financial services, risk or asset management, including 5–8 years leading and collaborating with cross‑functional business analysis, data and engineering teams to deliver impactful outcomes.
• Good experience in the following:
  • Developing structured plans for the execution of data and technology solutions to uplift processes in relation to business analytics.
  • Defining data solution architecture and operationalizing it to unlock business value
  • Engaging senior stakeholders to influence adoption of data solutions
  • Working with SQL and Python, relational database queries, and modern data platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake
  • Preferred experience with application of AI and agentic workflows to business and technology transformation
• Agility to learn with attention to detail, with the ability to operate effectively across data, technology and finance domains.
• Strong communication and presentation skills across technical and non‑technical audiences, with the ability to translate complex data and technology concepts into clear business implications.
• Strong people leadership, with the ability to engage data engineers, business analysts and data stewards while staying connected to the day‑to‑day realities of delivery teams.
• Strong business leadership, with the ability to engage stakeholders across functions and seniority levels, and to collaborate with and influence cross‑department business and technology partners in the development and execution of data and technology strategies.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline is advantageous.
