The Specialised Investigation Team (SIT) sits within Investigation & Intelligence, Group Compliance and conducts complex and specialist financial crime investigations. These include network investigations and reviews relating to areas such as correspondent banking, trade-based money laundering, sanctions, PEPs, tax evasion, shell companies, intelligence-led themes, and scam networks. SIT uses data analytics models and tools to support the identification, prioritisation and investigation of potentially significant financial crime risks.
We are seeking an experienced AML professional to join SIT’s AML Analytics Excellence & Integration Team and support the continued evolution of SIT’s data analytics models, tools and thematic capabilities. This is a forward-looking role focused on identifying opportunities to strengthen investigative value, broaden risk coverage and develop more integrated, effective and sustainable data analytics capabilities for SIT. The successful candidate will bring together investigation insights, emerging typologies, industry developments and user feedback to support the future direction of assigned SIT models and tools. Working closely with the Lead, AML Analytics Excellence & Integration, the candidate will translate opportunities into clear enhancement priorities and delivery-ready business requirements. The role will also collaborate with SIT investigators, intelligence and risk-domain specialists, partner data analytics teams, and technology stakeholders to progress initiatives from assessment and prioritisation through implementation and outcome review.
The ideal candidate combines practical AML investigation experience with a forward-looking approach to data analytics and detection capability development. The candidate should be able to identify how emerging risks, investigation insights, new data and analytical methods can deliver greater value to SIT. The individual will be structured, inquisitive and outcome-focused, with the ability to convert opportunities into sustainable enhancements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the Lead, AML Analytics Excellence & Integration, other team members, investigators, subject matter experts, partner data analytics teams and technology stakeholders. The role is suited to someone who can contribute specialised model enhancement and integration expertise while maintaining a broader view of SIT’s collective analytics priorities.
