Job Purpose:

We are looking for a highly motivated professional to support governance of sales advisory and sales surveillance activities within retail banking operations. The role focuses on implementing and maintaining frameworks that ensure sales practices are ethical, compliant, and aligned with regulatory requirements and internal standards. You will play a key role in monitoring sales conduct, identifying risks, and driving initiatives that strengthen advisory governance and customer protection, fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
Sales Advisory & Governance
  • Drive implementation of regional baseline standards for sales advisory activities for wealth management and bancassurance products.
  • Stay ahead of evolving requirements and principles governing financial advisory services across regional markets.
  • Identify and mitigate conduct risks arising from sales activities to uphold compliance and governance standards.
  • Design and operationalize a robust surveillance framework that monitors sales conduct, detects control gaps, and enables timely remediation.
  • Leverage data and analytics to strengthen surveillance effectiveness and deliver actionable insights.
Risk & Compliance Management
  • Partner with business and support units to embed governance initiatives and reinforce a strong risk culture.
  • Promote best practice sharing to uplift advisory governance and deliver superior customer outcomes.
Policy & Process Development
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for sales advisory and surveillance, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Continuously refine frameworks to meet evolving governance standards and improve operational efficiency.
Regulatory Reporting & Compliance
  • Prepare accurate and timely regulatory submissions in line with statutory requirements.
  • Provide trend analysis and management insights to support informed business decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes to identify opportunities for governance enhancement.
  • Drive automation and digitalization of risk control monitoring and reporting processes for efficiency and scalability.
  • Collaborate across functions to optimize processes and systems supporting sales, trade execution, new product offerings, and operational risk management.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with 5 – 10 years of relevant experience in retail banking functions such as sales advisory governance, compliance, or risk management.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks, such as MAS Financial Advisers Act, Securities and Futures Act, Fair Dealing Guidelines, with the ability to interpret and apply requirements across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Demonstrated risk assessment acumen and problem-solving capabilities; able to identify both granular issues and macro trends.
  • Motivated, responsible with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Team player that is proactive and resourceful.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Power BI.
