Job Summary

SG Cares is a national movement to build a caring and inclusive home for all, where Singaporeans can show care and consideration to others. In 2018, pilot studies on how to grow more volunteers and better channel their efforts to areas where they can have greater impact in the neighbourhood were established in two towns.

The pilots showed that a dedicated effort at the local‑level to grow the volunteer pool, build their capabilities, and coordinate the demand and supply of volunteers, was important to make a sustained impact. Hence, MCCY will be partnering community groups to establish Volunteer Centres (VC) for volunteer matching, deployment and training in the towns.

The VC will help:

  • build volunteer management capabilities;
  • broker sustained partnerships between volunteering groups; and
  • work with service providers to meet their needs for volunteers
Key Responsibilities
Volunteer Management
  • Provide support in the overall aspect of the volunteer management programme (Recruitment, Training and Retention) at town level
  • Support the development of framework and training curriculum for existing and new volunteers
  • Coordinates, nurtures, sustains, and motivates volunteers
  • Organise and provide support in events including formal or informal recognition, reward programmes, and appreciation events for volunteers
  • Document and monitor outcomes
  • Maintain and update Volunteer Programme materials (such as applications, policies and procedures, volunteer handbook, etc)
  • Support all secretariat work and reports of the volunteer programmes to management, internal and external stakeholders
Marketing and Communication
  • Support the development of strategy and operationalize plans to market the services and volunteering opportunities to community and corporate partners
  • Plan and manage all publicity efforts to drive volunteer recruitment and organise outreach events
  • Provide editorial support for corporate communication, collaterals, and materials
Administrative Matters
  • Update and manage database of volunteers to ensure accurate and up‑to‑date records
  • Manage the process for all documentations, submission, deadlines, and recognition
  • Comply with governance and regulatory requirements
  • Perform other duties as instructed by management and board.
Accountability
  • Reports to Head (Communications and Partners Engagement)
Competency Requirements

Technical Competencies:

  • Recognised Diploma/Bachelor in any field with minimum 2 years related work experience
