Job description

The Video Editor will assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director’s vision suitable for online publication. The Video Editor will be working in the 风和日丽 Sunnysideup team to create content for 风和日丽 Sunnysideup social platforms. 风和日丽 Sunnysideup is OGS’s bilingual media brand that focuses on hot button conversations for Mandarin-speaking audiences to share perspectives and discuss everyday topics and trends.

The ideal candidate is interested in creating successful social content that are relevant, trendy, and engage with the target audience. Candidates should also be proactive workers who are motivated and independent.

Responsibilities

• Piece together video edits following creative brief and production direction
• Review shooting script and raw material to edit video
• Deliver videos independently under tight deadlines
• Consult with stakeholders from production to post-production process
• Support post-production graphics, music, dialogues, and visual effects needs, where possible
• Manage video publication and file archival

Requirements

• Excellent command in communicating, reading and writing in Chinese
• Familiar with Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, and Photoshop (After Effects a plus)
• Demonstrable video editing ability with video portfolio, specifically documentaries, host-driven content and Tiktoks
• Knowledge in social media formats and trends
• Detail-oriented and organised
• Team player with a positive attitude and good work ethic
