Job Purpose

The Product Owner for Avaloq plays a pivotal role in defining, prioritizing, and championing the development roadmap for functionalities within the Avaloq banking system, acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, development teams, and external vendors to ensure product enhancements align with strategic business objectives, deliver maximum value, and meet regulatory and market demands. This role is integral to the change management of the wealth platform, encompassing responsibilities as a business lead, business analyst, business process engineer, and project manager, with a focus on "Change the Bank" activities, coordinating process changes across various functions and possessing subject matter expertise in wealth management products and processes.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, plan, prioritize, and execute change initiatives for the Avaloq wealth platform, covering end-to-end processes and booking channels.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration among diverse internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of initiatives and enhancements.
  • Manage the product backlog and drive continuous improvement and innovation within the Avaloq system.
  • Act as a change agent, establishing processes for effective roll‑out of new features and functionalities.
  • Address production functional queries and provide necessary training to users.
Product Owner / Project Management / Business Analysis
  • Act as a product owner, business lead, business analyst for the wealth segment.
  • Define and prioritize features, user stories, and acceptance criteria based on business value, technical feasibility, and strategic alignment, maintaining a well‑groomed product backlog.
  • Collaborate closely with agile development teams, providing clear direction, answering questions, and ensuring a shared understanding of product vision and sprint goals.
  • Find/propose and deliver added value solutions.
  • Conduct regular stakeholder reviews to provide delivery status, gather feedback, ensure alignment, and manage expectations.
  • Develop efficient working relationship and good interactions/communication with the various stakeholders/departments.
  • Subject matter expert on specific areas of wealth business, able to go beyond the expressed business requirements to identify opportunities and added value solutions enhancing client service, operational efficiency and operational risk.
Change Management
  • Ensure good change management plan (engaging stakeholders, communicate on changes before and after, influencing).
  • Coordinate and execute change management activities (training, documentation of user guides/manuals, workflows, etc.).
  • Systematic analysis of standard operating procedures and delivery of improvements through project implementation.
Knowledge and expertise
  • Bachelor's Degree with 7 - 10 years of experience as change manager, product owner or business analyst.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in private banking.
  • Sound knowledge in Avaloq Banking System. This is a MUST.
  • Good communication (presentation, moderation, etc.) and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good problem solving, planning and organizational skills.
