Job summary

1011 United Overseas Bank Ltd in Singapore is seeking a senior data science professional to lead AI and GenAI initiatives across banking domains. You will collaborate with data scientists, engineers and business units to evaluate, design and deliver high-impact use cases.

This role requires at least five years of advanced data science experience, a postgraduate degree, and strong Python, PyTorch, LangChain and Transformer model expertise.

Qualifications

• Min 5 years of advanced data science experience, preferably in banking/financial services/consulting.
• Proficient in AI/GenAI development including transformer models and LLM deployment.
• Strong Python programming and large data handling abilities.
• Experience with LangChain and PyTorch is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, data engineers, technology and business/support units, to evaluate, solution and deliver AI and GenAI driven business use cases.
• Develop and successfully execute plans aligned with strategic project and business objectives.
• Develop performant AI and Gen AI capabilities through thoughtful research and experimentation.
• Develop and deploy AI and Gen AI applications with agile prototyping.
• Integrate AI and Gen AI capabilities and applications into the bank's ecosystem.
• Stay abreast of fast emerging AI and Gen AI technological advancements, industry best practices, architecture, software resources and paradigms.
• Engage and manage stakeholder interactions and expectations.
• Provide deep expertise and advisory on AI and Gen AI to diverse stakeholders.
• Contribute to AI and Gen AI related validation, guardrail and benchmarking exercises.

Requirements

• Min Postgraduate degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field, with ability to reason quantitatively from first principles.
• Achieved consistent success in framing rigorous and data driven approaches to solve highly complex business use cases or academic problems.
• Min 5 years of advanced data science working experience, preferably in banking / financial services / consulting industry.
• Self-motivated team player, able to ideate innovative solutions and work independently.
• Proven record in developing AI applications using transformer models, boosting models, and other advanced techniques.
• Highly skilled and successful in end-to-end LLM deployment, with 2 years full-time experience. Demonstrable achievements is a must.
• Demonstrable expertise and experience in adjacent topics such as Agentic AI /Visual /Audio /Multimodal generation highly preferred.
• Python programming and large data handling abilities.
• Highly skilled with common data science and LLM packages such as Pytorch and LangChain.
• Experienced in general end-to-end data science solution delivery and assorted tools.
• Ability to communicate analytic findings clearly and convincingly to business.
• Skilful in agile project management practices.
• Experience with data visualization packages and/or tools a plus.
