What you’ll do:

As Vice President, Credit Management for Financial Institutions based in Singapore, you will immerse yourself in the dynamic world of credit evaluation for a broad spectrum of financial counterparties. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will see you collaborating with business units from the earliest stages of transaction origination through to final approval. You will act as a trusted advisor—guiding structuring decisions, ensuring rigorous due diligence is performed, shaping policy interpretation, and presenting recommendations clearly to senior leadership. Your ability to analyse complex scenarios across different sectors and geographies will be essential as you monitor portfolios for emerging risks. • Evaluate credit applications, internal ratings, and transaction proposals for both new and existing sovereign and financial institution clients by thoroughly reviewing submitted materials and challenging underlying assumptions as needed.
• Engage proactively with business teams at early stages of potential transactions to form well‑informed views, present these perspectives to senior management, and participate actively in deal screening committees.
• Provide clear guidance on policy interpretation and risk appetite while influencing transaction structures and facility terms to effectively mitigate risks.
• Present complex transactions concisely to senior management locally and internationally, demonstrating deep understanding of client profiles, transaction specifics, associated risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Offer alternative solutions when proposals do not meet bankability criteria by identifying risk‑mitigating options that align with organisational objectives.
• Support colleagues through coaching and mentoring activities that foster a strong sense of teamwork and shared purpose within the department.
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders across divisions and regions to build trusted relationships that facilitate effective communication on risk matters.
• Participate in term sheet negotiations, loan documentation reviews, ISDA/CSA discussions with business stakeholders to ensure credit terms are commercially sound and aligned with risk policies.
• Monitor assigned client portfolios from both sectoral and country perspectives; identify emerging issues promptly and recommend appropriate mitigating actions.
• Contribute to new business initiatives by providing risk‑focused guidance; participate in policy development projects as well as regional or head office‑driven change initiatives.

• Minimum seven years’ experience within the financial sector, with minimum four years of direct involvement in managing financial institution portfolios.
• Ability to communicate with business-level fluency in Mandarin is required, as the role requires regular communication with Clients that require communication to be in Mandarin, given the regional focus of this role.
• Demonstrated expertise in risk analysis with ability to formulate recommendations on credit proposals for sovereign counterparties as well as various types of financial institutions including banks, insurance companies, and broker dealers—across East Asia with particular exposure to China.
• Comprehensive product knowledge encompassing traditional lending products, trade finance instruments, structured transactions as well as traded products such as derivatives and securities financing arrangements.
• Deep understanding of sector‑specific risk dynamics along with awareness of evolving regulatory frameworks; ability to apply this knowledge when assessing counterparty success factors or business risks.
• Proven track record of building trust‑based relationships with business partners by providing timely advice on risk appetite requirements or structuring solutions for complex issues.
• Experience contributing beyond standard credit risk management duties—such as portfolio reporting enhancements or participation in special projects aimed at process improvement or policy refinement.
• Outstanding academic credentials at graduate or postgraduate level reflecting strong analytical foundations.
• Exceptional written communication skills tailored appropriately for diverse audiences; sensitivity towards cultural nuances when interacting across regions.
