Responsibilities

  • Support the full range of vessel accounting activities under the direction of the Vessel Accounting Manager
  • Carry out daily accounting functions, including inputting data into accounting platforms, preparing journal vouchers, and assembling relevant supporting documents f or financial records
  • Oversee reconciliation processes for balance sheet items tied to assigned vessels, such as master cash, bond store, accruals, and critical accounts
  • Prepare and analyse monthly financial reports and variance assessments for vessels, providing key input to decision-makers
  • Ensure that all vessel accounts are accurate, comprehensive, and completed on schedule each month
  • Adhere strictly to internal accounting policies and established financial standards throughout all operations
  • Collaborate with colleagues and provide administrative assistance for General Ledger (GL) and Accounts Payable (AP) procedures
  • Deliver timely and precise journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation

Requirements

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (educational qualification integrated)
  • Recognised professional accounting credentials are highly desirable
  • Proven experience in vessel accounting or within ship management firms is considered a strong advantage
  • Demonstrated expertise in accounting practices, with a sharp focus on detail and accuracy
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for accounting applications.
