What you will be working on:

We are seeking a skilled UX/UI Designer to lead the design transformation of our manpower capability developer platform. As the dedicated designer, you will shape the entire user experience and interface whilst building a comprehensive design system from the ground up. This is an opportunity to make a significant impact on how developers interact with our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own the end-to-end design process for our developer platform, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity designs and implementation guidelines
• Build and maintain our Developer Platform Design System, creating a unified design language that adheres to Government Digital Service Standards
• Develop essential design resources including component libraries, templates, pattern libraries, and documentation to support development teams in implementation
• Work closely with product and technical teams to ensure designs are feasible, maintainable, and meet both user needs and technical requirements
• Establish and document design standards, best practices, and guidelines specific to developer-focused interfaces
• Manage the design system's evolution, including updates, improvements, and maintenance of documentation
• Stay current with developer experience design trends and government digital standards to continuously enhance our platform
• You will be part of a wider product team while having autonomy over the design direction. This role reports to the Product Director for day-to-day operations, with professional guidance from the UX/UI Lead.

What we are looking for:

• Preferably degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, graphic design, design research or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Preferably 5+ years’ experience in UX/UI design work
• Proficiency in design tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Miro)
• Experience in Design System and Government-to-Business Application Development Experience in Singapore Government or Enterprise-Level projects
• Track record of successful design system implementation
• Understanding of various application development disciplines such as Agile, Product Management (Design and Planning) etc.
• Knowledge of Singapore Government DSS
• Seek self-directed learning to improve yourself by staying current with UX/UI trends, best practices and technology trends
• Willingness to work in-office and build trust as a team player in the existing CES-ITD (IT Division) team
• Partner with project managers, digital business analysts, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders involved in the CES program to deliver the required UX/UI design deliverables and ensure that the designs are aligned with business objectives and technical constraints
• Proven ability and demonstrate strong commitment to work collaboratively with cross functional teams, senior stakeholders and leadership
• Good communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present findings clearly and persuasively to all stakeholders
• Provide guidance to CES team members and stakeholders on design principles and practices
• Strong analytical thinking with attention to detail
• Ability to handle ambiguity
• Strong empathy for users and commitment to user advocacy
