Job summary

The National University of Singapore (NUS) Centre for Nature-based Climate Solutions (CNCS) invites applications for a Research Assistant in Biological Sciences. You will support urban restoration and Microforest programmes, owning project components, shaping research design, and contributing to publications.

Responsibilities include coordinating field activities, conducting GIS and R-based analysis, co-authoring papers, and providing cross-programme support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, Geography or related field.
• Experience with GIS platforms and data visualization tools.
• Strong data analysis skills using R.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for academic outputs.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day coordination of the urban microforest programme, keeping timelines, deliverables, and stakeholders on track.
• Contribute actively to the research design and scientific direction of microforest and related NBS projects.
• Co-author and contribute to scientific papers, technical reports, and knowledge outputs.
• Conduct spatial and quantitative analysis using GIS tools and R.
• Bring fresh, creative ideas to strengthen and advance our microforest research agenda.
• Support other projects across the centre as needed.
