The role focuses on building, securing, and maintaining UNIX/Linux environments, scripting for automation, and implementing IaC to streamline deployments.

Qualifications

• Strong Linux administration, specifically RHEL/Oracle Linux.
• Experience in UNIX/Linux server build, configuration and security hardening.
• Proficient in Shell scripting and Python automation.
• Experience with high availability and clustering (Veritas Cluster / VCS FSS).
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage and LVM.
• Strong troubleshooting and L3 support skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and harden UNIX/Linux servers.
• Build and configure Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
• Configure server storage, networking, security, and system services.
• Provide L3 infrastructure support and resolve complex server issues.
• Collaborate with application, database, network, cloud, and security teams.
• Support infrastructure planning, design reviews, deployments, and cutover activities.
• Ensure infrastructure readiness for application onboarding and releases.
• Develop Shell and Python scripts for provisioning and automation.
• Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices and standardise server builds.
• Create and maintain Technical Design Documents (TDDs), SOPs, build documents, runbooks, and knowledge articles.

What You'll Do:

Key Responsibilities Infrastructure Build & Implementation

• Install, configure, and harden UNIX/Linux servers .
• Build and configure Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments.
• Configure server storage, networking, security, and system services .

Project & L3 Support

• Provide L3 infrastructure support and resolve complex server issues.
• Collaborate with application, database, network, cloud, and security teams.
• Support infrastructure planning, design reviews, deployments, and cutover activities.
• Ensure infrastructure readiness for application onboarding and releases.

Automation

• Develop Shell and Python scripts for server provisioning and operational automation.
• Implement configuration management and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices.
• Standardise server builds and deployment procedures.

Security & Compliance

• Implement OS hardening and security best practices .
• Perform patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory security standards.

Documentation

• Create and maintain Technical Design Documents (TDDs), SOPs, build documents, runbooks, and knowledge articles .
• Provide knowledge transfer to operations and support teams.

Must-Have Skills

• Strong Linux Administration , particularly RHEL / Oracle Linux .
• Strong experience in UNIX/Linux server build, configuration, and security hardening .
• Strong Shell Scripting and Python automation skills.
• Experience with High Availability and Clustering , preferably Veritas Cluster / VCS FSS .
• Experience with Storage: SAN/NAS and LVM .
• Strong troubleshooting and L3 support experience.

Good to Have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, and VMware .
• Infrastructure-as-Code and configuration management experience.
• IBM MQ experience.
• Disaster Recovery and capacity/performance management experience.
